New rooflights at SEMH school renovation
Client: St Edward’s School
Location: Hampshire
Overview:
St Edward’s School in Hampshire is a special school providing care and education for boys who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The school is housed in an impressive Jacobean-style Grade II listed building designed by Henry Clutton and once owned by Lord Ashburton. Unfortunately, the roof and associated rooflights on the workshop wing were in dire need of replacement. This was a vital project since the workshop is where students learn various trade skills which help them with their personal and professional development. Adexsi UK was proud to supply new rooflights to help ensure these students have the optimal environment for their education and training.
Outcome:
After working with the building’s owner and end user to determine their needs, a total of eleven AdeLight domed rooflight systems were used for this project in conjunction with the Soprema FLAG PVC Single Ply Membrane waterproofing system. All Adexsi rooflights utilise clear double-layer polycarbonate, offering dramatically improved interior daylighting and energy efficiency. Aside from the environmental benefits, the self-cleaning effect created by the edgeless dome will help to keep the rooflights clean and translucent for years to come. Although these rooflights were installed without openers, AdeLight can easily be retrofitted with an opener should the client decide to do so. Our factory is TUV certified and all products are CE certified.
