Overview:
In the 1970s the first of the Leekes home department stores opened “out of town” near Llantrisant, the furniture department recently had an upgrade to provide an improved thermal and energy efficient building.
Adexsi worked with Leekes Property team to design, supply, install and commission a new AdeSmoke® – Natural Smoke Ventilation System.
Outcome:
The system comprises 18no Souchier Certilam T roof mounted louvre ventilators to BSEN12101-2 fully insulated, along with controls to BSEN12101-10 which will provide both emergency smoke ventilation and comfort ventilation as required.
Along with the Smoke Ventilation a Q Cells Solar PV installation and new thermal roof were also installed to enhance the building and assist with the clients energy needs. Each of the home department stores sell ‘everything for the home’ from the foundations up through to the products for every room, kitchens to bathrooms, sofas to beds and all the finishing touches.
Over 60,000 people pass through the doors of a Leekes store each week.
Leekes the Home experts since 1897 are celebrating over 125 years.
