Adexsi UK has been appointed to deliver smoke extract systems for the lift lobbies all the way up the 50 storey One Blackfriars residential tower, on the south bank of the River Thames in central London.
The project, designed Simpson Haugh Architects is being built by St George Homes, part of the Berkeley Group, and will feature 274 apartments. The developer is asking up to £23 million for the highest penthouse properties, which promise a commanding view over the London skyline.
Also part of the project are two low level blocks, to include a boutique style 163 bedroom hotel, and a retail and leisure building. In between the blocks will be a landscaped piazza with specially designed water feature. The project is expected to be completed in 2017. Main contractor for the £140 million project is Brookfield Multiplex.
Adexsi UK will be providing its Verishaft smoke extract system for both the residential tower, and the two adjacent blocks including the hotel. Such systems feature within commercial and high rise buildings to ensure that, in the case of fire, any smoke is quickly removed from the interior, enabling occupants to escape and facilitating fire fighting with minimum danger.
