Overview:
The Phoenix Group is one of the top five medical wholesalers in the world, with revenues in excess of €24bn. It owns pharmacies around Europe, offers pharma services and is a major international distributor.
The organisation required the updating of one of its major warehouse buildings, in Preston Brook, Runcorn. The issue was capacity – as the group becomes ever more successful so it needs to expand its operation. In this instance the client wanted to add a new mezzanine floor and specialist conveyor to the site, changing the profile of the designed smoke control protocols.
Outcome:
Adexsi UK was appointed to work with Andrew Design Services and Linc Conveyors to devise a smoke control system that was suitable for the new layout. The designed solution involved the supply and installation of 66 bespoke Adexsi Certilam smoke louvres, all certified to BSEN12101-2. These vents can also be used for natural ventilation to ensure a healthy and comfortable environment for staff at the warehouse.
