Docklands development drive

Adexsi UK has been called on to provide a complete suite of fire, smoke and ventilation solutions for the first phase of the Royal Wharf development in London’s Docklands.
Royal Wharf, in the Royal Docks, is set to be the largest new neighbourhood in the Docklands since the development of Canary Wharf around 20 years ago. A new urban village on a 38 acre site, it will include more than 3,000 new homes as a mix of apartments and townhouses. The former wharfside site, along the north bank of the river Thames, is just upstream from the Thames Barrier.
The project is being taken forward by developer Ballymore with the backing of Singaporean investor Oxley. The first homes will be ready for residents to move in later this year, with the whole project on programme for completion in 2020.
Adexsi UK will be working closely with building services specialist Emico to integrate VeriShaft and VeriFlow systems into the project. These systems will provide a mixture of natural and mechanical smoke ventilation to the residential towers, using Adexsi UK’s experience to ensure communal corridors and stairwells remain safe to use at all times. In addition, a VeriPark system has been selected for use in the underground parking areas, ensuring good air quality is maintained and effective smoke extract is provided in the event of a fire.
Bringing it all together is VeriCom, Adexsi UK’s latest control system offering a flexible, programmable solution that can be quickly and simply applied to all smoke ventilation, daily/natural ventilation and smoke/fire damper control requirements. The versatility of VeriCom often enables the same equipment to be used for multiple systems, providing a more efficient control solution and substantial cost savings for the client.
