In the heat of the Middle East, Adexsi UK is hard at work ensuring proper ventilation and smoke control at a huge new Qatar Logistics Park.
The Bu Sulba Logistics Hub estate will enable businesses to flourish in the sovereign country, taking up 517,376 sqm with 194 warehousing units. The Gulf Warehousing Company is developing the site, tailored toward SMEs with a container yard, staff accommodation, a mosque, first-aid unit and commercial and other amenities.
The Bu Sulba site is expected to provide its services primarily to the Food and FMCG general goods sector, offering distribution networks to other parts of the country. Gulf Warehousing cites its “experience in offering cold chain storage and transport solutions… [to] directly serve the needs of the specific SMEs that will be established at the site.”
Adexsi has been appointed by the Gulf Warehousing Company to undertake the project on across two construction phases. The company is adapting its Certilight twin flap ventilator to meet the certification standards required by the Qatar Civil Defence Department, offering a thermally broken smoke and natural vent that can be supplied glazed or opaque.
Certilight is an NSHEV (Natural Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilator) which conforms to NF EN 12101-2 et NFS 61 937-1, offering 1200J resistance (with griddle). It operates as an opening frame with thermal bridge. The vents are being supplied along with an Adexsi UK EN12101-1 certified smoke control system (VeriCom), which also meets the national Qatar standards, ensuring a safe and durable solution.
The Bu Sulba site is one of a number of similar new developments in the region, which is experiencing commercial growth with the success of numerous businesses of all sizes.
